PayPal Credit is a payment option that allows eligible customers to spread the cost of their purchase over time using a credit limit linked to their PayPal account.
If your order is eligible, you'll see available instalment options during checkout.
Do I need a PayPal account?
Yes. PayPal Credit is linked to your PayPal account, so you'll need a PayPal account to use this payment method.
If you don't already have one, you can create an account as part of the application process.
How do I apply?
To apply for PayPal Credit:
- Select PayPal Credit at checkout.
- Choose an available instalment option.
- Complete the application form.
- PayPal will carry out a credit check.
- If your application is approved, you'll be asked to accept the Credit Agreement.
Once accepted, a credit limit will be added to your PayPal account.
Am I eligible?
Eligibility is determined by PayPal.
Before applying, you should make sure that you meet PayPal's eligibility criteria, including:
- Being a UK resident aged 18 or over
- Having a good credit history
- Not having recently been declared bankrupt
- Having an income of more than £10,000 per year
What if my application is declined?
If your application isn't successful, PayPal will provide more information about the decision.
You'll still be able to complete your purchase using another available payment method, such as PayPal, debit card or credit card.
I already have PayPal Credit
If you already have PayPal Credit, you won't need to apply again.
As long as you have enough available credit, you can use it to take advantage of eligible offers at checkout.
What happens if I cancel or return my order?
If you cancel or return an order purchased using PayPal Credit, any refund will be sent back to your PayPal Credit account.
Why can't I see PayPal Credit at checkout?
PayPal Credit is only available on eligible orders.
Your basket must meet the minimum spend requirement for PayPal Credit to be offered at checkout. Orders must be worth at least £99 to qualify.
