Why am I seeing two payments for a single order?

We understand that seeing two payment references in your bank account might be a bit worrying, but usually, there's no need to be concerned, and it doesn't mean you're being charged twice for the same order.

This often means that your single payment is currently in a 'pending' stage.

A pending transaction is one that has been authorised but not yet fully processed and settled, either because the payment is on hold (awaiting authorisation) or waiting to be settled (being processed within the payment network before being deducted from your bank).

Once this process is complete, the pending transaction will become a completed one, which might take a day or two to clear. It will then move from your list of pending payments to your current balance.

You can find more information about how pending transactions work with PayPal here: https://www.paypal.com/uk/money-hub/article/how-does-a-pending-transaction-work
