If you're returning a Samsung device to us, you'll need to remove your Samsung account before sending it back. This applies whether you're returning the item under warranty or as part of our returns policy.
Removing your Samsung account helps us process your return without delays.
Remove your Samsung account using your device
- Open Settings.
- Select Accounts (or Accounts and Backup, depending on your device).
- Select Samsung Account.
- Tap the email address linked to your Samsung account.
- Select More in the top-right corner and choose Remove Account.
- Tap Remove Account again.
- Enter your Samsung account password.
- Confirm you'd like to remove the account.
Your Samsung account will now be removed from the device.
Can I remove my Samsung account remotely?
Samsung accounts generally need to be removed directly from the device before it is returned.
If you no longer have access to the device or you're having trouble removing your account, please contact Samsung Support for assistance before returning your device.
Returning your device?
Before sending your device back, please make sure you've:
- Removed your Samsung account.
- Removed any Google accounts linked to the device.
- Removed SIM cards and memory cards.
- Backed up and removed any personal data.
- Removed any security or parental locks.
If your device arrives with a Samsung account still active, we'll return it to you so the account can be removed before we can continue processing the return.
