When you buy a Magpie Certified Refurbished device, you can shop with confidence knowing it has been thoroughly tested, professionally refurbished and quality checked by our expert technicians.
Every device goes through our in-house refurbishment process before it's listed for sale, helping us identify and resolve any issues before it reaches its next owner.
How are devices tested?
We use industry-leading diagnostic software and detailed functionality checks to test every device we receive.
Our testing process covers a wide range of features and components to make sure each device meets our quality standards before it's sold.
If we identify a fault during testing, our technicians will repair or replace the affected component before the device is listed for sale.
What battery health can I expect?
We understand that battery health is an important factor when buying a refurbished device.
That's why every battery undergoes rigorous testing as part of our refurbishment process using industry-leading diagnostic software. We assess a range of battery performance measures, including:
- Battery health percentage
- Cycle count
- Battery temperature
- Battery resistance
- Full charge capacity
If a battery doesn't meet our quality standards, it will be replaced by our technicians before the device is listed for sale.
All devices sold by musicMagpie have a battery health of at least 80%.
Batteries naturally degrade over time, so battery health can vary between devices. While we're unable to display the exact battery health of individual products on our website, every device has passed our battery testing process and meets our refurbishment standards.
Do you use genuine Apple parts?
We can't guarantee that every Apple device we sell contains only genuine Apple parts.
As an independent refurbisher, we may use high-quality replacement parts during our refurbishment process. These components are thoroughly tested to ensure they meet our performance and quality standards before a device is offered for sale.
It's also important to remember that we purchase pre-owned devices. Some products may have been repaired before they reach us, meaning a previous owner or repair provider may already have fitted replacement parts.
Whether a component is original or replaced, every device undergoes extensive testing during our refurbishment process to ensure it's fully functional and ready for its next owner.
Why am I seeing a message about replacement parts on my device?
Some manufacturers, including Apple, may display a notification when a component such as a screen, battery or camera has been replaced.
These notifications don't necessarily mean there's a problem with the device. They simply indicate that a component has been replaced or that the manufacturer is unable to verify the part. This can happen on professionally refurbished devices.
If the device has passed our refurbishment and testing process, the replacement part has been checked to ensure it's fully functional.
What condition will my device be in?
Every device is assigned a cosmetic grade before it's listed for sale.
Our available grades are:
- Pristine
- Very Good
- Good
The condition grade relates to the appearance of the device only. Regardless of the grade selected, every device is fully functional and has passed our refurbishment process.
